Spotlight on Excellence: An Interview with One of Our Affiliate Leaders Awards Finalists

Kayleigh Cassar, Content Manager for the Canadian market at Game Lounge, has been shortlisted for Affiliate Content Manager of the Year at the Affiliate Leaders Awards 2025. Over the past year, she and Team Canada have focused on creating trusted, high-quality content for CanadaCasinos, growing its audience, and even launching a French version of the site. Her work combines strategy, creativity, and SEO expertise to deliver content that Canadians can rely on.

In this interview, we speak with Kayleigh Cassar as she shares what this nomination means, the milestones that shaped her journey, and why great content starts with knowing your audience.

Q: What does this nomination mean to you personally, and what do you think it says about your journey as a content specialist?
A: This nomination is really meaningful for me personally, but it’s also a reflection of what our team in Canada has accomplished. It shows that consistent hard work, learning from each project, and staying open to new ideas pay off. My journey as a content specialist has been about growing alongside the team, learning what works for our market, and always looking for ways to improve.

Q: Describe your role at Game Lounge. Which markets do you cover, and what excites you about the content you write?
A: I’m the content manager for Team Canada, so that means I lead content for the Canadian market at Game Lounge. I work closely with the rest of our team to make sure every piece of content is accurate, engaging, and tailored to what our audience wants. What excites me most is the collaboration and creativity involved in every project. We push each other to find fresh angles, make complex topics simple, and deliver work that really connects with people.

Q: How do you keep finding new ways to push boundaries and keep things fresh?
A: It comes down to curiosity and teamwork. In Team Canada, we’re always looking at trends, analyzing what works, and testing new ideas. We don’t assume we know the answers – we experiment, reflect on results, and adjust. That mindset of continuous learning keeps our content evolving and relevant, while still maintaining the high standards we hold ourselves to.

Q: The Affiliate Leaders Awards spotlight industry excellence. In your view, what makes great affiliate content stand out from the rest?
A: Great affiliate content is clear, reliable, and genuinely useful. It stands out because it’s created with the audience in mind, not just to check a box. For us in Canada, it’s about understanding what readers want and delivering it consistently, while also being flexible enough to adapt as trends and regulations shift. The best content feels effortless but is backed by careful research, teamwork, and attention to detail.

Q: You’ve been shortlisted alongside your colleague Christoffer. How do you feel about sharing this recognition with a colleague?
A: It’s great to see talent recognized across the company. While we work in different teams, sharing this recognition highlights that strong content comes from focus, dedication, and expertise, no matter the market. It’s motivating to be part of a company where multiple teams are pushing the standards of what great affiliate content looks like.

Q: Looking back, what are your milestone projects and which content best captures why you love this role?

A: One of the projects I’m really proud of is taking CanadaCasino to the next level. Over the past year, we’ve been working on bringing in more visitors, improving our content, and building trust with our readers. SEO has been a significant part of this – ensuring our content is not only high-quality but also discoverable by Canadians searching for reliable information. We want to be a brand Canadians can count on, a place where they can find clear, trustworthy guidance. Seeing more people engage and recognize us has been incredibly rewarding.

Another big step was launching the French version of the site, so even more Canadians can access our content. These projects really show why I love this job. It’s not just about making content; it’s about building something meaningful for our audience, earning credibility, and showing how hard our team works. Every part of the process, from planning to launch, reminds me how rewarding it is to work and learn with Team Canada.

Q: Win or lose in Lisbon, how do you see this recognition impacting your work and vision for the future of affiliate content?
A: No matter the outcome, this recognition inspires our team to keep learning, growing, and raising our standards. It reminds us that success stems from dedication, teamwork, and an ongoing commitment to improvement. For me, it’s about taking the lessons from this year and applying them to create content that continues to engage and support our audience.
