Shorter weeks may be over, but caring for people isn’t

As Game Lounge transitions back to a full working week, the emphasis is on meaningful connections, fostering creativity, and building strong teams. The Game Lounge Brunch goes beyond a meal; it sparks ideas, encourages collaboration, and supports the wider community through contributions to the Malta Community Chest Fund.

There’s always a sharp intake of breath when the rhythm of work shifts. After a summer of shorter weeks, Game Lounge’s return to a full working week does not signal the end of work-life balance, but a redefinition of “how we use our time, focus our energy, and connect as a team to make every day count,” said Richard Dennys, CEO of Game Lounge.

“With our four-day weeks behind us, the months ahead are crucial, and the run-up to Christmas is when we focus, nurture creativity, and strengthen teamwork. This will define what we deliver,” he reminded Game Loungers during brunch held at the company’s Malta headquarters.

Richard Dennys noted that, as Game Lounge switches gears heading into the year-end, the focus must be on human connections that cannot be replicated on screen. He said that balance isn’t just about hours worked; it’s about how that time is spent. The Game Lounge Brunch launched this week goes beyond a meal; it is a platform to spark curiosity, inspire ideas, and strengthen a culture where teamwork and collaboration truly thrive. Teams grow stronger when people show up for each other, cultivating empathy and trust. Face-to-face collaboration lets ideas bounce freely, giving creativity room to flourish. Success is defined by the depth of work and the strength of teams, not just the number of days worked.

Giving back to the community

Richard Dennys highlighted that wellbeing isn’t just about what happens in the office, it’s also about contributing to the wider community. Reflecting this principle, Game Lounge has paired its brunch tradition with donations to the Malta Community Chest Fund, reinforcing that caring for others is an essential part of a healthy workplace culture.

Balance is about making every moment count, strengthening teams, and using work to benefit both people and the wider community.
